Risk and Compliance Specialist – Fixed Term – Lilongwe

About the role

UNICEF Malawi is seeking a Risk and Compliance Specialist to strengthen accountable, risk‑informed programme delivery for children. Reporting to the Deputy Representative, Operations, you will lead operational support for partnerships, cash transfers and fiduciary safeguards, especially in emergency contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operational support for Implementing Partnerships and HACT, including partnership management, assurance activities and cash transfers.
• Monitor partnership performance, compliance trends and risk indicators, translating insights into dashboards, reports and governance briefings.
• Contribute to enterprise risk management, internal controls, audit readiness, fraud risk management and ethics accountability.
• Advise teams on practical improvements to operational effectiveness and strengthen staff and partner capacity in HACT, compliance and risk management.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in risk, compliance or fiduciary management within an international development or humanitarian context.
• Proven ability to work with diverse partners and stakeholders, including government and NGOs.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in data‑driven monitoring and reporting.
