Risk and Compliance Specialist – Fixed Term (NO-3)

About the role

Join UNICEF Malawi as a Risk and Compliance Specialist to strengthen accountable, risk‑informed programme delivery for children. Reporting to the Deputy Representative, Operations, you will lead operational support for implementing partnerships and the HACT (Humanitarian Accountability) framework, ensuring robust fiduciary safeguards even in emergency contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Manage partnership performance, cash transfers and fiduciary safeguards across programmes.
• Monitor compliance trends, risk indicators and assurance results, translating data into dashboards, reports and governance briefings.
• Support enterprise risk management, internal controls, audit readiness and fraud risk mitigation.
• Provide guidance on ethics, accountability and practical improvements to operational effectiveness.
• Build capacity of staff and partners in HACT, compliance, risk management and fraud prevention.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience in risk, compliance, finance or related fields.
• Proven experience in partnership management, fiduciary oversight and compliance monitoring, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret data, identify trends and produce clear, actionable reports.
• Excellent communication skills to advise teams and present findings to senior management.
