Resource Mobilisation Intern (6-12 months)

About the role
The University of Malawi is looking for a dynamic and creative intern to support its resource mobilisation and fundraising initiatives for a period of six to twelve months. Reporting to the Deputy Registrar, the intern will collaborate with multiple directorates, including Students Affairs and Finance & Investments.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, monitor and review a fundraising strategy with yearly targets for UNIMA programmes.
- Research potential donors and partners, and maintain a database of contacts and preferences.
- Prepare project and funding proposals and ensure timely, compliant reporting to donors.
- Maintain and expand a network of corporate contacts, managing relationships to maximise support.
- Assist in preparing resource allocation tables and contribute to annual work‑plan and budget development.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Business Communication, Accounting, Finance or related field from a recognised institution.
- At least two years of experience in resource mobilisation, project management, community engagement or related areas.
- Experience in fundraising, financial management and analysing accounting reports.
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
