About the role
UNICEF is seeking a dynamic People and Culture Officer to support the implementation of its People and Culture Strategy (2026–2029) in Lilongwe, Malawi. The role focuses on fostering an enabled, motivated and high‑performing workforce while contributing to emergency response efforts.
Key responsibilities
- Support delivery of the People and Culture workplan under the guidance of the People and Culture Specialist.
- Provide end‑to‑end employee‑lifecycle services, ensuring policy‑compliant and people‑centred solutions.
- Enhance efficiency of HR processes and promote a positive workplace culture.
- Drive data‑driven talent management and workforce analytics.
- Partner with business units to deliver strategic HR support and capacity development.
- Contribute to emergency response operations as required.
Required profile
- Demonstrated ability to give sound guidance and advisory support to staff.
- Strong client‑focused approach with solid technical HR expertise.
- Experience in managing HR services in a multicultural, mission‑driven environment.
- Commitment to UNICEF’s values and the rights of children.
