Budgeting and Reporting Assistant – Finance

About the role

Save the Children International is looking for a Budgeting and Reporting Assistant to join the Planning, Budgeting and Reporting team in the Malawi Country Office. Based in Lilongwe, you will support the financial management of partnerships, donor reporting and the AICS PROMOSSO Project.

Key responsibilities

• Review partner financial reports and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide guidance to partners on donor financial requirements and conduct field‑based reviews.
• Prepare and process payments for the AICS PROMOSSO Project, including advance liquidations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper authorisation of transactions.
• Support proposal budgeting, annual budgeting, donor and internal reporting, and monthly Budget vs Actual processes.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in Finance and Accounting; a degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is an advantage.
• At least two years of experience in accounting, finance, budgeting or financial reporting.
• Experience in the NGO or donor‑funded sector is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.
• High integrity, professionalism and commitment to preventing fraud.
