Agent Operations Regional Lead

About the role

Wave is seeking a Regional Lead to drive agent network acquisition and user growth across a designated region in Malawi. Reporting to the Country Launcher, you will oversee field officers, manage agent contracts, training, liquidity and risk, and ensure operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate field officers to identify and acquire new agents according to selection criteria.
• Ensure agents sign valid contracts, receive training on KYC, AML/CTF and product procedures.
• Oversee agent activation, branding, supply delivery and certification.
• Monitor cash and e‑value liquidity at agents in partnership with Liquidity and Quality teams.
• Track agent performance, conduct routine visits and manage risk reporting.
• Handle agent churn, equipment recovery and removal of branding material.
• Lead distribution management, including hiring, training and monitoring field‑based promoters.
• Develop growth strategies to remove blockers, boost user retention and expand the user base.

Required profile

• Fluency in English and a local language.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience managing agent networks or user acquisition in Malawi, with at least 2 years leading field teams.
• Proven experience overseeing up‑country agent activities and prior launch experience (desirable).
• Strong communication, detail‑orientation, autonomy and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
