General Manager – Commercial & Operations (Malawi)

About the role

The General Manager will lead, develop and consolidate the company's operations in Malawi, ensuring sustainable growth, continuous revenue generation and progress toward financial self‑sufficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the commercial plan, identify new markets and clients, negotiate contracts and manage the commercial pipeline.
• Oversee financial management including budgeting, cash‑flow monitoring, cost control, profitability analysis and ensuring financial discipline.
• Ensure operational efficiency by supervising contract execution, service‑level compliance, productivity, resource utilisation and continuous improvement.
• Manage administrative functions, regulatory compliance, HR processes, record‑keeping and represent the company with external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Marketing or a related field; additional management or sales training is a plus.
• Proven experience in general management, commercial management or business development, with a track record of generating and growing revenue in competitive environments.

Required skills

• Strong prospecting, negotiation and client‑relationship capabilities.
• Ability to interpret financial statements, manage budgets and control costs.
• Strategic leadership, team mobilisation and decision‑making under pressure.
