Agent Operations Regional Lead

About the role

Wave is expanding its agent network across Malawi and needs a Regional Lead to drive agent acquisition, activation, and ongoing performance. Reporting to the Country Launcher, you will supervise Field Officers, coordinate with agent admin teams, and ensure operational excellence in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new agents, ensuring compliance with selection criteria and legal requirements.
• Oversee agent contracting, training, certification, and branding.
• Manage liquidity availability at agents in partnership with Liquidity and Quality teams.
• Monitor agent performance, conduct routine visits, and address risk issues.
• Handle agent churn, equipment recovery, and removal of branding materials.
• Lead a team of Field Officers and field promoters to recruit new users and boost product adoption.
• Develop growth strategies, remove blockers, and improve user retention.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines while maintaining cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Fluency in English and a local language.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience managing agent networks or user acquisition in Malawi, with at least 2 years leading field‑based teams.
• Hands‑on experience overseeing upcountry agent activities; prior launch experience is a plus.
