About the role

The University of Malawi is seeking a Senior Clinical Officer to provide primary health care services to staff, students and surrounding communities. This internal vacancy offers an opportunity to lead clinical activities within the university’s health facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary health care services to staff, students and surrounding communities.
• Diagnose and treat patients across a range of conditions.
• Run Antiretroviral and Sexually Transmitted Infection clinics.
• Develop and maintain a patients’ database.
• Mobilize resources for clinic operations.
• Facilitate and implement community outreach programmes.
• Prepare duty rosters for clinic staff.

Required profile

• Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a reputable, accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a busy medical facility.
• Member of the Medical Council of Malawi.
