Senior Buyer – Procurement Lead for Mining Operations

About the role

The Senior Buyer will lead procurement activities for the Kayelekera Uranium Mine, ensuring the timely and cost‑effective acquisition of goods and services that support safe and efficient mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement in line with company policies and operational needs.
• Lead RFQ and tender processes, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate contracts.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure reliable, competitive supply.
• Identify alternative sources and drive cost‑saving initiatives.
• Expedite critical purchase orders and resolve supply‑chain issues to minimise disruptions.
• Monitor supplier performance and address non‑conformances.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, expenditure analysis and reporting.
• Provide procurement guidance to internal stakeholders and ensure compliance with regulatory and SHERQ standards.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement or sourcing experience, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
• Proven track record in supplier management, strategic sourcing and commercial negotiations.
• Strong analytical, planning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
