Manager, Investigations

About the role

The Manager, Investigations leads complex forensic investigations within the Standard Bank Group framework. The role focuses on identifying, mitigating and preventing financial crime while protecting the organization from operational loss and reputational damage.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse alerts and instructions to detect potential financial crime.
• Conduct and support forensic investigations in line with the GFS framework and regulatory standards.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and recommend control improvements.
• Gather relevant information using appropriate tools and document findings.
• Present investigation results to senior leadership, regulators or legal forums.
• Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders on investigation processes.
• Represent the organization in disciplinary hearings and court proceedings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Audit, Risk Management or Law.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in forensic investigations or financial‑crime risk.
• Proven experience managing or leading complex investigations.
• Strong stakeholder management with senior internal and external parties.
• Experience presenting findings to senior leadership, regulators or legal forums.
