Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – Foundational Law

About the role

The University of Malawi is seeking qualified candidates for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer position in Foundational Law. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Commercial Law, Private International Law, the Law of Contract and the Law of Business Organizations to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The role also involves participation in departmental, faculty and university committees and contributing to the institution’s academic mission. Applicants must have a Masters or Doctorate degree in law and submit a detailed curriculum vitae, copies of certificates and three traceable referees to the Registrar, Chancellor College, P.O. Box 280, Zomba by 20 November 2015.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the specified law subjects.
• Conduct and publish research in areas of legal specialization.
• Participate in departmental, faculty, college and university‑wide committees.
• Act as an academic consultant within the broader department.

Required profile

• Masters or Doctorate degree in law from a recognized university.
• Ability to teach the listed law courses and engage in scholarly research.
