About the role
The School of Law, Economics and Government at the University of Malawi is seeking qualified candidates for academic positions in the Department of Private Law. Openings range from Assistant Lecturer up to Professor, covering teaching, research and community outreach.
Key responsibilities
- Teach private law subjects such as Business Organizations, Labour Law and Intellectual Property.
- Conduct research, publish scholarly work and provide consultancy services.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects and participate in departmental activities.
- Engage in community outreach and resource mobilisation initiatives.
Required profile
- Assistant Lecturer: Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Upper Second-Class.
- Lecturer: Bachelor of Laws (Upper Second-Class) plus a Master’s in Law (LLM).
- Senior Lecturer: Above qualifications plus a strong publication record.
- Associate Professor/Professor: Above qualifications, a PhD in Law and an established record of research and publications.
