HR Manager – Malawi

About the role

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, sea and rail) now part of the MSC Group, is recruiting an HR Manager for its operations in Malawi. This is a permanent, full-time position overseeing HR functions, recruitment, training, employee relations and labour law compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and run HR strategies aligned with Malawi business objectives and act as a strategic partner to senior leadership
• Oversee full-cycle recruitment, build a talent pipeline, manage internal SESAME applications and coordinate onboarding with IT, Security and QHSE
• Run engagement surveys, analyse results and implement improvement plans to improve retention
• Deliver training and development, conduct skills gap analyses and build leadership and succession pipelines
• Administer the performance management cycle, including goal setting, evaluations and feedback
• Manage pay and benefits programmes, benchmark against the market and help prepare the annual HR budget
• Ensure compliance with Malawi labour laws, monitor legal changes, keep accurate HR records and support audits

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field (Master's or HR certification is a plus)
• At least 5 years of progressive HR management experience, including 2 years in a managerial role
• Strong HR experience in Malawi, preferably in freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain (warehousing)
• Experience in multinational or cross-cultural environments preferred
