Business Systems Analyst and Project Management Consultant

About the role

The University of Malawi is recruiting a Business Systems Analyst and Project Management Consultant for a flexible, time-based contract position based in Lilongwe. The incumbent gathers business requirements, translates them into technical specifications and oversees the implementation of solutions, keeping the final product within budget and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document user requirements and business processes, and turn business goals into actionable requirements
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, and create and maintain documentation such as user stories and process maps
• Lead solution development and implementation projects from start to finish, managing plans, timelines and resources
• Oversee system configuration, deployment and quality assurance, and troubleshoot implementation problems
• Act as liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, communicating status, risks and requirements
• Influence stakeholders to support project goals and provide training and support to users of new systems

Required profile

• At least a master's degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, business or a related field
• Proven experience as a business analyst and/or project manager within the MaHIS ecosystem
• Experience with planning and leading patient system digital transformation efforts
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision in a 50% contract environment, prioritising competing tasks and tight deadlines

Required skills

• Exceptional verbal and written communication, able to present to varied audiences
