Tax Manager – Business Tax

About the role

Deloitte is looking for a technically strong, client‑focused Tax Manager to join its Business Tax practice in Malawi. The role will lead a portfolio of corporate tax compliance and advisory engagements for local and multinational clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage delivery of corporate tax compliance, including tax computations, returns, deferred tax calculations and provisions.
• Provide advisory services such as tax planning, due diligence, restructuring, risk management and cross‑border tax matters.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with client management teams, ensuring timely, practical advice.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise multiple engagements, reviewing work of junior staff and ensuring quality standards.
• Coach and mentor junior team members, supporting their technical development and performance management.
• Identify business development opportunities, contribute to proposals and thought‑leadership initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CA, CPA or equivalent) with significant progress.
• Minimum 5 years of corporate tax compliance and advisory experience, preferably in a professional services environment.
• Experience supervising teams and reviewing technical work, with exposure to multinational clients.
• Strong analytical, commercial awareness and communication skills, high ethical standards and commitment to continuous professional development.
