Social Worker – Maternal Mental Health (2 positions)

About the role

The Social Worker will support pregnant and postpartum women in the project catchment area, assessing psychosocial needs, facilitating self‑help groups, and ensuring follow‑up care and referrals. The role reports to the Team Leader and contributes to awareness, advocacy, and stakeholder collaboration within the Maternal Mental Health project.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments of pregnant and postpartum women.
• Develop and implement management plans based on social needs analysis.
• Support the creation and facilitation of women’s Self‑Help and peer support groups.
• Perform home visits and provide follow‑up care for beneficiaries.
• Refer beneficiaries to appropriate government and civil‑society programs.
• Coach and train nursing staff to strengthen their social skills.
• Participate in awareness‑raising campaigns promoting social and economic integration of mothers with mental health challenges.
• Network with government social institutions, NGOs, and religious organisations.
• Assist in advocacy efforts related to maternal mental health.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Social Work from a recognised and accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar field.
• Strict adherence to the organisation’s Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy.
