About the role
The Social & Behaviour Change (SBC) Specialist will provide technical assistance and support the design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of SBC programmes in Malawi. Working under the guidance of the SBC Specialist (Gender) and in close coordination with other sectoral programmes, the role contributes to evidence‑based strategies that advance child rights and development.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance for SBC programme design, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
- Support the development of systematic, evidence‑based SBC strategies and policies.
- Assist in operationalising accountability to the affected population (AAP) mechanisms across SBC and sectoral programmes.
- Engage and coordinate with government counterparts, development partners, civil society and other stakeholders.
- Mobilise resources and facilitate partnerships to strengthen SBC interventions.
- Generate and document evidence of measurable results to demonstrate impact.
Required profile
- Relevant experience in social and behaviour change programmes within development or humanitarian contexts.
- Ability to work under supervision while collaborating with multiple sectoral teams.
- Strong coordination skills with external partners and stakeholders.
- Commitment to UNICEF’s mission of promoting child rights and wellbeing.
