Social & Behaviour Change Specialist (Fixed‑Term) – Lilongwe

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Social & Behaviour Change (SBC) Specialist to provide technical assistance and support the design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of SBC programmes in Malawi. Working under the guidance of the SBC Specialist (Gender), you will help shape evidence‑based strategies that advance child rights and development outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for SBC programme design, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
• Support the development of systematic, evidence‑based SBC strategies and policies.
• Assist in operationalising accountability to the affected population mechanisms across SBC and sectoral programmes.
• Engage and coordinate with government counterparts, development partners, civil society and other internal stakeholders.
• Facilitate evidence generation to demonstrate measurable results and impact.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in social and behaviour change programmes within development or humanitarian contexts.
• Ability to work under supervision and collaborate with multi‑sectoral teams.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with external partners.
