QA/QC Tester for Web Application (Remote, 1 Month)

About the role

A short-term, remote QA/QC Tester for web applications is needed, based in Malawi. The tester reviews and validates web application features against business and technical requirements, designing and running test cases so that functionality, usability and performance are ensured. The role reports directly to the Head Developer and is a 1-month contract with possible extension.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate web application features against business and technical requirements.
• Design and execute test cases covering functionality, usability and performance.
• Perform daily manual testing, document defects, reproduce issues and work with developers, product owners and other stakeholders to resolve problems and prevent regressions.
• Maintain test documentation and take part in release readiness checks.
• Suggest improvements to testing processes and quality standards.
• Work on-site in Limbe, manage time well and handle several testing tasks and priorities in a fast pace.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in computer science, information systems or a related field preferred; prior experience testing web or enterprise applications is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Limbe, manage time effectively and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Exposure to agile or iterative development is beneficial.

Required skills

• Functional, regression and integration testing of web applications, with clear test case design.
• Defect tracking and analysis using issue-tracking tools, communicating findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Basic knowledge of browsers, HTML/CSS, HTTP and APIs, and cross-browser and cross-device testing.
• Quality assurance best practices, test planning and acceptance criteria.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication.
