About the role

The Project Officer will support the four‑year Maternal Mental Health project in Lilongwe and Mzimba districts. Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the officer will plan, implement and monitor activities, ensuring alignment with reproductive health standards and MEAL frameworks.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop the scope of work and daily activity plans in line with project financial and reproductive health standards.
  • Track performance using MEAL tools, prepare timely narrative and financial reports, and support baseline, midline and endline evaluations.
  • Collect, analyse and interpret data to assess impact and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct regular field visits, provide technical support, and facilitate training workshops, learning events and coordination meetings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with target groups, local authorities and other stakeholders, ensuring regular communication.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing, Community Nursing, Mental Health, Reproductive/Public Health or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in the NGO sector.
  • Commitment to the Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning) tools.
  • Data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Facilitation of training workshops and stakeholder engagement.
