Pharmacist – Mzuzu

About the role

The Pharmacist will report to the Clinical Director and be responsible for dispensing medications, ensuring drug quality, and supporting safe medication use within the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, dispense and supply prescribed medications to in‑patients and out‑patients.
• Monitor stock levels, manage pharmacy inventory and contribute to budgeting for medicines.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, safety and potential drug interactions.
• Counsel patients on proper use, side effects and storage of medicines.
• Participate in therapeutic drug monitoring and pharmacovigilance activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (Hons) or Pharmacology.
• Registered with the Pharmacy Medicines Regulatory Authority (PMRA).
• Proven experience as a pharmacist.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to work with mentally ill patients and adhere to child and vulnerable adult protection policies.
