Nutrition Specialist – Fixed Term (Lilongwe, Malawi)

About the role
Under the guidance of the Chief, Nutrition, the Nutrition Specialist will help transform diets and futures of children, adolescents and women in Malawi by driving strategies that increase the availability, access and consumption of diverse, nutritious foods at scale.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and roll out a minimum package of child‑sensitive, nutrition‑responsive agriculture actions aligned with national priorities, including biofortified crops and nutrient‑rich value chains.
- Support community‑based approaches and behaviour‑change activities to improve food utilization, preparation and consumption.
- Coordinate implementation through community and district structures and align with broader food‑systems initiatives.
- Strengthen partnerships with UN agencies, government ministries and other stakeholders for joint planning, multisectoral coordination and scaling of nutrition‑sensitive value chains.
- Monitor programme performance, strengthen data systems, document best practices and provide evidence for policy advocacy.
Required profile
- Open to Malawian nationals only.
- Relevant experience in nutrition, agriculture, food security or related sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to work in multisectoral environments and coordinate with diverse partners.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
