Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Manager – Malawi

About the role

The MEL Manager will manage and implement all monitoring, evaluation and learning functions for the Malawi program, supporting integrated vector control and HIV activities. Reporting to the Chief of Party, the role ensures high‑quality data and timely evidence‑driven decisions for the project.

Key responsibilities

• Lead collection, organization, analysis and presentation of program data, ensuring accurate tracking of all project indicators.
• Develop, review and implement MEL guidelines, standards, protocols and data‑collection tools, including mobile‑based and country‑hosted information systems.
• Oversee data quality assurance processes, prepare for audits and address gaps to maintain data integrity.
• Supervise and mentor MEL staff, provide training and capacity‑strengthening for project and government partners.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to provide routine performance feedback and recommendations for program improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience (or master’s with 4 years, PhD with 2 years).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Monitoring & Evaluation, public health, or related data‑management fields.
• Demonstrated experience managing MEL on USG‑funded projects, preferably malaria or HIV programs.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and report‑writing skills in high‑pressure environments.
• Fluency in English.
