Nutrition Officer – Fixed‑Term Position in Lilongwe

About the role

UNICEF Malawi is looking for a Nutrition Officer to support the delivery of high‑impact maternal, infant, young child and adolescent nutrition (MIYCAN) services. The role will focus on emergency preparedness, wasting detection and treatment, and strengthening nutrition systems across targeted districts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for MIYCAN programmes, including wasting management.
• Support programme planning, implementation and monitoring of nutrition interventions.
• Collaborate with government, civil society and development partners to strengthen multisectoral nutrition solutions.
• Develop and maintain robust monitoring, analysis and reporting systems to generate evidence for decision‑making.
• Contribute to humanitarian preparedness and response activities.

Required profile

• Dynamic and committed professional with experience in nutrition programme delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government counterparts, NGOs and partners.
• Knowledge of MIYCAN services and wasting management.
• Strong analytical mindset for monitoring and reporting.
