Liquidity Lead

About the role

Wave is seeking a Liquidity Lead to manage agent liquidity and cash operations across Malawi. The role ensures cash availability at agent points, oversees cash‑in‑transit processes, and drives improvements in liquidity management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the agent network to prevent liquidity distress, coordinating cash rebalancing and bank pickups.
• Oversee cash‑in‑transit firm operations, ensuring SLA compliance and security standards.
• Set up and maintain Premium Agencies and Master Agents, including personnel management.
• Build and lead a team to implement liquidity strategies and meet operational goals.
• Develop policies, processes, and tools to improve liquidity operations nationwide.
• Provide expert insight for policy reviews and lead knowledge‑transfer sessions with other affiliates.

Required profile

• Fluency in English and a local language.
• 5+ years managing liquidity in mobile‑money or banking cash operations.
• Minimum 2 years leading field‑based teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% within Malawi.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets.
