Compliance Manager

About the role

Jhpiego, an international non‑profit health organization, is seeking a Compliance Manager to lead risk assessments, monitor compliance, and strengthen internal controls across its Malawi country office. Reporting to the Country Program Manager, the role works closely with senior leadership and functional teams to ensure adherence to donor, regulatory, and organizational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual risk‑based compliance monitoring plan, including routine reviews, spot checks, and field visits.
• Conduct periodic reviews of procurement, financial management, asset and inventory processes, recommending improvements to reduce fraud risk.
• Monitor compliance with donor contracts, organizational policies, and applicable laws, and report findings to country leadership.
• Support sub‑recipient monitoring, audit preparation, and response to audit findings, ensuring timely corrective actions.
• Provide compliance training, tools, and guidance to program, finance, procurement, and grant teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 6‑7 years of progressive experience in audit, compliance, risk management, or internal controls.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIA, or CISA preferred.
• Experience working for an international NGO or donor‑funded organization and applying U.S. Government donor regulations.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work independently in a multicultural environment.
