Finance Intern

About the role

The Finance Intern will support the Finance Department by providing clerical and accounting services that help deliver high‑quality programs for the poor and vulnerable. Working within an experienced finance team, the intern will apply established accounting and reporting procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare standard financial documents such as vouchers, wire transfer requests, and checks using prescribed templates.
• Provide administrative support for financial transactions, including preparing, typing, photocopying, scanning, and filing documentation.
• Compile liquidation/receipt packages and communicate with staff, sub‑recipients, partners, and suppliers to obtain required documents.
• Enter financial transaction data after validation by senior finance staff.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes and basic reconciliations (bank, petty cash, supplier statements).
• Support the preparation of financial reports and schedules under supervision.

Required profile

• High School Diploma required; actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Graduate program with good academic standing.
• 6‑12 months of relevant work experience and familiarity with standard accounting practices.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative, customer‑service mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with data entry into online databases and forms.
