International Trade Manager

About the role

The International Trade Manager will lead Ceylon Salvus’s export activities from its Blantyre office, identifying new markets and shaping trade strategies to drive growth. This full‑time position works closely with consulting, training and compliance teams to align services with international demand.

Key responsibilities

• Research and evaluate potential export markets and develop entry strategies.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing and terms with overseas clients, distributors and partners.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, Incoterms, customs and trade finance requirements.
• Coordinate logistics for shipments and prepare all required trade documentation.
• Analyse margins, monitor trade performance and report on business results.
• Represent the company at trade fairs, client meetings and industry events.
• Collaborate with internal consulting, training and audit teams to tailor service offerings.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing cross‑border transactions and export operations.
• Strong business negotiation and contract management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with international clients and regulatory bodies.
• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Economics, Logistics or a related field (preferred).
• Knowledge of trade laws, Incoterms, customs regulations and trade finance instruments such as letters of credit (advantage).
• Demonstrated success in developing market entry strategies and achieving export growth targets.
• Analytical, planning and organisational capabilities with proficiency in standard office software and reporting tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural teams and display cultural awareness.
