Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will support the NGO’s financial operations, ensuring that all procedures are followed and that the finance team has the information and documentation needed to operate efficiently. This position works closely with the accountant, operations manager, and other staff to maintain financial integrity across programs.

Key responsibilities

• Update the payment tracker and communicate status to staff.
• Process vendor and partner payments, preparing transactions in banking software for management approval.
• Document checks, manage credit‑card expenditures, and reconcile statements.
• Disburse funds with proper documentation and monitor cash flow for program activities.
• Process per diems, retirements, petty cash, and office utility payments with required approvals.
• Manage salary and benefits processing, including tax and social security filings.
• Support the accounting team and ensure procurement documentation complies with policies.
• Alert management to any suspected irregularities or financial risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of finance, accounting, and procurement experience, preferably in international development.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
• Fluent English and one local language.
