Finance & Grants Manager

About the role

The Finance & Grants Manager will lead financial operations for the STRIDES project in Malawi, ensuring robust financial planning, reporting, and compliance with donor and regulatory requirements. This senior position provides strategic guidance to senior leadership and oversees the financial performance of sub‑recipients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead data collection, analysis, and translation of financial results into actionable insights.
• Review, approve, and present monthly budget vs. actuals, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Prepare and submit financial reports and supporting documentation in line with funder requirements.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to align with project objectives.
• Monitor and approve project expenditures, serving as the designated financial approver.
• Partner with the Project Manager to track subcontractor financial performance and ensure compliance.
• Develop and endorse financial models, providing strategic guidance.
• Maintain accurate, complete financial records and support audit processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing finance, sub‑contracts, and compliance for government‑funded, grant‑based, or commercial projects.
• Proven ability to build and lead high‑performing finance teams.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
• Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk mitigation.
