Finance and Operations Manager – Malawi

About the role

The Finance and Operations Manager will lead the financial and operational functions of Splash’s Malawi project, reporting directly to the Country Director. Based in Lilongwe, this full‑time position ensures the integrity, accuracy and stability of all financial activities while supporting the organization’s mission to provide clean water, sanitation and menstrual health resources in schools.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily financial processes, including transaction recording, cash management and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial reporting and ensure compliance with internal policies and donor requirements.
• Develop and streamline accounting procedures in coordination with the Regional Director of Finance & Operations.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial statements for the Malawi project.
• Monitor operational expenditures and support procurement and logistics functions.
• Provide financial guidance and training to project staff and local partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing finance and operations in a nonprofit or development context.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Lilongwe on a full‑time basis.
