Driver (G-2) – Fixed Term – Lilongwe, Malawi

About the role

The Driver (G-2) will support programme delivery and business continuity by providing safe, reliable and efficient transportation services for staff, field missions, emergency response and the movement of operational resources across the Malawi Country Office.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain vehicle readiness and ensure compliance with transport, safety and security standards.
• Complete accurate trip and vehicle documentation and support routine administrative and operational functions.
• Provide transportation for staff mobility, field missions, emergency response efforts and secure movement of resources.
• Contribute to effective fleet management and operational support to enable UNICEF’s work in vulnerable communities.

Required profile

• Secondary education, a valid driver’s licence and knowledge of local driving rules.
• At least two years of driver experience in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe driving record.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of a local language (e.g., Chichewa) is an asset.
• Experience with field missions, emergency response or rapid deployments is desirable.
