Chief Finance Officer – Financial Reconciliation

About the role

The Malawi Enterprise Development Fund Limited is seeking a Chief Finance Officer to lead the reconciliation of its financial records. This senior finance role focuses on ensuring accurate bank, loan and general ledger balances, supporting robust financial reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily reconciliation of bank accounts, loan portfolios and general ledger balances.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, preparing detailed reconciliation reports.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Supervise finance staff responsible for reconciliation activities.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Recommend and implement improvements to reconciliation systems and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an NCHE‑accredited institution.
• Master’s degree in accounting or finance (preferred).
• ACCA or CIMA partially qualified – advantageous.
• Minimum three years of experience in financial reconciliation.
