Assistant Track Coaches (Jumping and Sprints)

About the role

Villa Maria Academy, a Catholic college preparatory school for girls in grades 9-12, is looking for two mission-driven assistant track coaches. One will focus on jumping and the other on sprints. They support the Head Coach in all aspects of the track and field program, including developing students' track skills, promoting sportsmanship, organizing practices and building a positive, competitive team culture.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach in organizing and running practices, workouts and meets
• Teach technique, strategy, conditioning and event-specific skills
• Help supervise athletes during practices, meets, team travel and other activities
• Assist with athlete evaluation and development
• Monitor athletes' academic progress and encourage academic success
• Maintain communication with athletes, parents, coaches and school administration
• Help manage equipment and set up facilities, and ensure athletes' safety
• Attend coaches' meetings and professional development as required

Required profile

• Previous coaching or competition experience
• Strong knowledge of track and field fundamentals, rules and strategies
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to engage and motivate high school athletes
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain it
• Meets all school background requirements
