Assistant ODeL Programmes Officer (Student Support)

About the role

The University of Malawi is recruiting one Assistant ODeL Programmes Officer (Student Support) to support its open distance and e-learning (ODeL) programmes. The post holder implements ODeL policies and standards, supports students and helps coordinate academic activities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement ODeL policies, plans, strategies and standards
• Facilitate registration and admission of ODeL students
• Coordinate and implement academic activities for ODeL programmes
• Implement quality assurance standards for ODeL programmes
• Provide career guidance to open distance and e-learning students
• Respond to staff and students' inquiries, queries and grievances
• Organize and conduct public awareness activities
• Monitor students' progress and dropout
• Ensure effective, efficient and economical use of resources
• Maintain ODeL programme and student databases

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related qualification
• 3 years of relevant experience
