About the role
The University of Malawi is looking for an Assistant Revenue Accountant to manage debtor accounts, process invoices, and support cash‑flow monitoring. The role involves close collaboration with the finance team to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with university policies.
Key responsibilities
- File all debtor correspondence and maintain debtor records.
- Capture manual invoices into the accounting system.
- Prepare and submit debtor schedules and statements.
- Facilitate timely recovery of debts and monitor credit limits.
- Assist in preparing debtor reconciliations and reviewing vouchers for discrepancies.
- Provide regular cash‑flow projections and monitor debt repayment.
- Participate in the preparation of audit schedules and respond to auditor queries.
- Attend to debtor enquiries and support audit query handling.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in accounting or a related field.
- At least three years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
