About the role

Airtel Malawi is seeking a dynamic Territory Sales Manager to lead retail sales and distribution activities across the assigned region. You will supervise distributors and channel partners, drive subscriber acquisition and retention, and ensure financial performance aligns with revenue and market‑share targets.

Key responsibilities

  • Achieve subscriber volume, retail revenue, and market‑share objectives as defined in the territory business plan.
  • Manage retail sales budgets and ensure budgetary targets are met.
  • Execute annual territorial retail and distribution plans for Voice, Data, and Airtel Money services.
  • Recruit, coach, and manage voice, data, and mobile money retailers and agents.
  • Oversee door‑to‑door retailer and franchisee management, ensuring product availability and service delivery.
  • Develop and manage distributor networks, wholesalers, and Strategic Supply Depots.
  • Identify and develop new trade channels and branding opportunities to enhance visibility.
  • Roll out POS solutions in trade according to standards and marketing guidelines.
  • Provide on‑the‑job coaching for distributor sales staff, brand ambassadors, and other field personnel.
  • Prepare timely management reports on sales performance and market intelligence.

Required profile

  • Proven experience in sales and distribution management, preferably within the telecom sector.
  • Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities.
  • Ability to meet or exceed revenue, subscriber, and market‑share targets.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret market intelligence and competitor activity.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business environments.
