Site Performance Analyst Internship

About the role

This internship, offered through the Mastercard Foundation Associate Program, supports the Performance Engineering team at Helios Towers Malawi. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the intern will help monitor, analyse and improve the performance of the company’s telecom tower network.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse site performance, power and operational data to identify trends, anomalies and improvement opportunities.
• Process and maintain log files from solar, hybrid, off‑grid and on‑grid sites for performance analysis.
• Prepare reports, dashboards and insights to support operational and business decision‑making.
• Create and manage work orders in ServiceNow, track progress and verify corrective actions.
• Support troubleshooting of site performance, power systems and network operations.
• Provide analytical support to Zonal Managers, field teams and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or a Higher National Diploma in a relevant field.
• Recent graduate or early‑career professional with strong interest in telecommunications infrastructure and engineering analytics.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Required skills

• Data analysis and interpretation.
• Performance monitoring and reporting using platforms such as Dataminer, RMS, RPMS and ServiceNow.
• Lean Six Sigma continuous‑improvement techniques.
• IT and systems literacy, including familiarity with service‑management tools.
