Assistant Laundry Manager

About the role

The Assistant Laundry Manager supports the Laundry Master in overseeing the daily operations of the shipboard laundry facility. This position ensures that all linen, towels, uniforms, and tableware are cleaned, inspected, and delivered to the appropriate departments while maintaining high standards of hygiene and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the crew members working in the laundry and coordinate with housekeeping, food & beverage, and other divisions.
• Monitor and maintain laundry equipment, perform daily inspections, and ensure preventative maintenance programs are followed.
• Inspect finished laundry cycles for quality, manage sorting of linen, and verify that all items meet required standards.
• Handle guest and crew concerns related to laundry services, following onboard problem‑resolution guidelines.
• Assist in setting formulas, cycles, and temperature settings for different types of linen and soil levels.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work environment.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience as an Assistant Laundry Master or similar role in a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel, cruise line, or upscale hospitality operation.
• Strong technical proficiency with laundry equipment and a solid understanding of preventative maintenance.
• Ability to lead, manage, and direct crew members while exercising sound judgment.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills for operational and guest‑related issues.
