Laundry Manager (Shipboard)

About the role

The Laundry Manager oversees the daily operation of the shipboard laundry facility, ensuring efficient processing of all linen, uniforms, and guest items. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the role combines technical expertise with strong coordination across multiple ship departments.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise washing, ironing, dry‑cleaning and storage of all laundry items.
• Maintain equipment uptime, coordinate repairs, and conduct daily dryer and machine inspections.
• Ensure proper sorting of linen by color and removal of debris before processing.
• Monitor quality at each stage and enforce strict quality‑control standards.
• Schedule washing cycles for special items such as costumes and top‑suite uniforms.
• Manage chemical inventory, place requisitions, and operate within the assigned budget.
• Collaborate with the Executive Housekeeper, Senior Deck Supervisor and other departments to guarantee timely distribution of clean linen.
• Oversee cleaning, sanitation and organization of work areas and equipment.

Required profile

• Technical proficiency with commercial laundry equipment and processes.
• Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions and apply common sense to problem‑solving.
• Strong judgment for corrective actions and equipment maintenance.
• Experience handling guest‑related laundry issues and coordinating with multiple ship divisions.
