Production Site Lead Malawi

About the role

The Production Site Lead is responsible for overseeing Bayer’s corn seed production operations in Malawi and the wider Southern Africa region. The role involves developing and implementing strategic plans, coordinating seasonal tactical plans, and directing field and site operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of commercial seed.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate medium to long‑term production strategy aligned with commercial plans, including building a reliable grower network and expanding plant capacity.
• Identify, contract, and support growers, manage contract performance and develop long‑term business propositions.
• Foster HSE, Operations Management, Quality, and Bayer Production System culture and continuous improvement.
• Plan and manage capital, maintenance, and operational budgets.
• Oversee annual crop planning with field operations team to meet production schedules on time and within budget.
• Ensure effective inventory and logistics management for raw materials, consumables, and finished goods.
