Communications Specialist – Advocacy & Media (Lilongwe)

About the role

Save the Children is seeking a Communications Specialist to support the Malawi and Zimbabwe Cluster from its Lilongwe office. The role will drive the implementation of the cluster’s Advocacy, Communications, Campaigns and Media (ACCM) strategy, enhancing visibility and influence among key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver communication materials, media engagements and campaign content.
• Document programme impact and produce learning materials.
• Strengthen internal and external communication systems and support field teams in advocacy activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with media, government officials and partners.
• Support the design and implementation of campaigns that amplify children’s voices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media, Journalism, Communication, Development Communication or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in communications, advocacy, media relations or stakeholder engagement within an international NGO.
• Strong writing, editing and content development skills across multiple platforms.
• Understanding of child rights and development issues in Malawi and Zimbabwe.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
