Plant Controller – Malawi

About the role

The Plant Controller will act as a key finance partner, driving operational performance and providing critical business intelligence across research, production, quality, safety and commercial functions. Based in Malawi, you will support strategic decision‑making through cost analysis, KPI management and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure operational excellence.
• Costing of corn seed for local production and import business; maintain material masters in SAP.
• Manage transfer‑price agreements across EMEA and Asia and approve export costs.
• Lead monthly closing activities, reconcile inventory balances and monitor cost‑centre performance.
• Calculate unitary cost of goods manufactured, perform variance analysis against budget and long‑range plans.
• Support special projects, savings initiatives and capital‑project ROI tracking.
• Provide SAP production process support, including process order checks and ledger analysis.
• Reconcile grower payments and document seed destruction and cull handling procedures.

Required profile

• Strong finance background with experience in cost accounting and transfer pricing.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional stakeholders and drive KPI‑focused results.
• Experience in a manufacturing or agricultural environment is preferred.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on internal controls and data accuracy.
