School Administrator (5 openings)

About the role

University of Malawi is seeking five School Administrators to support the operation of its degree programmes. The role involves providing administrative assistance across academic and student services, ensuring smooth scheduling, event coordination and record‑keeping. The successful candidates will work closely with faculty members, the registrar’s office and other administrative units to ensure timely delivery of services and support the university’s commitment to academic excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Support operations of new and existing degree programmes.
• Assist in timetabling, class scheduling and facility booking.
• Organise workshops, meetings, dialogue sessions and other academic events.
• Participate in procurement processes for programme needs.
• Record minutes of academic and school meetings.
• Process student claims, withdrawals and other student‑related matters.
• Help prepare documentation for programme accreditation.
• Provide information to students and locate required resources.
• Coordinate school evaluation processes and maintain the departmental website and databases.
• Verify and process time records for students and part‑time employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Management or a related field.
• At least three years of relevant work experience in academic or administrative support.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff and diverse student populations.
