Programme Manager – Democratic Governance & Human Rights

About the role

The Programme Manager will support the EU Delegation’s Cooperation Section responsible for Democratic Governance, Human Rights and Civil Society in Malawi. Reporting to the EU Ambassador, the Head of Cooperation and the Team Leader, the role involves programme design, implementation and monitoring in partnership with beneficiary institutions and donors.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the programming, identification, formulation and appraisal of programmes in cooperation with beneficiary institutions and other donors.
• Prepare programme documentation and reports as required.
• Provide support, expertise and assistance to the EU Ambassador, Head of Cooperation and Team Leader.
• Coordinate activities within the Cooperation Section’s team of seven staff and the wider team of 23 staff.
• Ensure compliance with EU policies and guidelines.
• Occasionally work atypical hours to meet programme needs.

Required profile

• Will work under the supervision of the EU Ambassador, the EU Head of Cooperation and the Team Leader, providing support and expertise.
