Programme Analyst – Family Planning/Reproductive Health Commodity Security

About the role

The Programme Analyst, FP/RHCS supports UNFPA’s national efforts to strengthen reproductive health commodity security and supply‑chain systems in Malawi. Working under the Programme Specialist (SRH), the analyst contributes to forecasting, procurement planning, logistics monitoring and reporting for contraceptives, maternal health medicines and related commodities.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse commodity and logistics data to identify supply risks, stock‑outs or expiries and flag them for follow‑up.
• Support forecasting, quantification and supply planning for family planning and maternal health commodities.
• Maintain and update dashboards within the national Logistics Management Information System (LMIS) and prepare periodic reports.
• Coordinate activities of project staff, consultants and implementing partners, ensuring compliance with UNFPA supply‑chain policies.
• Assist in advocacy, policy dialogue and resource‑mobilisation activities related to reproductive health commodity security.

Required profile

• Experience in health‑system strengthening, particularly in supply‑chain or logistics management for reproductive health commodities.
• Ability to produce technical briefs, policy inputs and analytical reports for programme development and monitoring.
• Proven capacity to work with ministries of health, national supply‑chain institutions and development partners.

Required skills

• Logistics Management Information System (LMIS) usage and dashboard maintenance.
• Data analysis and routine pipeline, stock‑status, and commodity‑availability analysis.
• Forecasting, quantification and supply‑planning techniques.
• Inventory management, warehousing and last‑mile distribution coordination.
