Premium Cash Assistant

About the role

Wave is looking for a Premium Cash Assistant to join its liquidity operations in Lilongwe, Malawi. The role serves customers and rebalances mobile money agents with cash or e-float. It is a permanent position based in the Lilongwe office, with possible travel to other field locations, and requires work authorization in Malawi.

Key responsibilities

• Control access to the safe/cash house and manage cash in and cash-outs between the safe and the PAA accounts.
• Hold the end-of-day bill count and maintain daily reconciliation of premium agent outlets.
• Ensure all cash management transactions are correctly recorded in the treasury system.
• Promptly request sufficient funds from head office so there are no service disruptions or delays at the outlet.
• Handle the receipt and dispatch of cash through the Cash In Transit (CIT) team.
• Ensure cash management policies and guidelines are followed, and escalate and follow up on issues affecting the premium outlet.
• Track and monitor proximity agents to keep them liquid, and support agents and customers with information on Wave's offers, account opening, systems, applications and physical cards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, banking or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience as a cashier in cash management, reconciliation and liquidity management, cash handling, delivery or a similar position.
• Strong proficiency in English and other local languages in Malawi, preferably.
• Organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, honest and able to work independently and in teams.
