About the role
The Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will provide technical monitoring and evaluation support for the Ending Child Marriage programme in Malawi. Working under the Chief Programme Planning and Monitoring, the role will shape data‑driven decision‑making across ten high‑burden districts and influence national policy dialogue.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation and oversight of the programme Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework.
- Develop a comprehensive MEL strategy aligned with the CIFF investment.
- Consolidate, analyse and report high‑quality data from district social welfare offices, police, judiciary, community volunteers, helpline and health facilities.
- Enhance interoperability of government data systems, including CPIMS, Police MIS, Judiciary CMS, CRVS and DHIS2.
- Lead the development of digital data collection tools and support routine monitoring, evaluations and mixed‑methods learning studies.
- Embed data‑driven decision‑making, facilitate adaptive management and ensure measurable impact.
Required profile
- Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation within large‑scale development or child protection programmes.
- Ability to work closely with government agencies, UNICEF teams and implementing partners.
- Strong analytical mindset and capacity to translate data into actionable insights.
