Mission Home Custodian

About the role

This position provides custodial support for Church facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and reverent environment for worship, teaching, and community activities. The custodian works closely with mission leaders to maintain both public and private spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Perform journey‑level custodial work, including cleaning, laundry, and bed making.
• Operate equipment such as buffers, carpet cleaners, and vacuums.
• Set up meeting rooms, replace draperies, chandeliers, and lights as needed.
• Maintain a hygienic home environment for missionaries and mission leaders.
• Report maintenance issues to the facilities management team.
• Use cleaning agents and chemicals safely with appropriate protective gear.

Required profile

• Hold a current/valid temple recommend or be deemed worthy.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lb, climb steps, and work with cleaning equipment.
• Capable of understanding and following verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to work unsupervised and follow safety training.

Required skills

• Operation of buffers, carpet cleaners, and vacuum cleaners.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and task organization.
• Safe handling of cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipment.
